I have led, guided and enabled creative branding teams for many years, across a wide array of visual and brand outputs. Which is lucky for me, as one thing I love is to bring together a variety of different creative disciplines and talents to produce projects and to enhance and serve the brand values.
Recently I have consulted for a variety of digital and branding creative agencies in Stockholm, Sweden and I am currently Creative Director, Brand for New Era Cap, NY, USA.
I spent 12 years as the Global Head of Creative for the fashion brand Ben Sherman. where I set up and led a team whose function was to create and control all of the visual, non-apparel output of the brand. In essence, art directing an internal creative agency, conceptualising and policing all brand content. On leaving Ben Sherman I set up Behavior as a vehicle for consulting work and as a place to showcase my creative work.
When I boil my work down, in essence what I have always been interesting in, whatever the project, is working out how to tell a compelling story, how to move people, and how to capture a mood.
Whether through music, film, packaging, words, graphics or simply conceptual ideas, I am compelled to find the right combination to create the right sentiment for the right reasons.
My experience includes, brand identity, brand meaning, graphics, naming, global ad and marketing campaigns, brand packaging, brand ideology, event creative, pure branding, interior identity, retail identity, visual identity, window schemes and managing creative partnerships. And that was just on Mondays...
If there is a strong ideology, a story to reveal, potential to add some brand poetry and a dash of an artistic element, then I am your man. I love that stuff! And I could talk about it for ever.
I have an obsession with finding the essence of a brand, and distilling this down until its pure position is reached. Then, complementary ideas can be ‘painted in’ and themes played with until the basic idea is built upon and reinforced.
