The seasonal collection comprised of some really fresh, vibrant colours. So to celebrate this we wanted to do something chaotic, aggressive and joyful to the window display and shop fascia.
To attract customers to the store without being overly brash, we decided to get a bike sprayed in totality ( gears and chain included ) in the yellow of our Modern Classics branding, which featured in the store.
We wanted the bike to feel as though it had been casually left there, but to also feel just odd enough for it to be compelling. I assumed it would become a very photographed item amongst the tourists of Notting Hill, who may then share these images on social media. So we also branded it with the 115 PORTOBELLO logo to promote the store.
This has now become a much photographed and instagrammed object.
A silly but hugely fun little exercise! In the UK on November 5th each year, there is a celebration called Bonfire night. People gather around bonfires, there are firework displays and generally a arsonist's dream is played out across the land!
So for our 115 Portobello store we thought we would light up our logo - made up of 5000 matches. And then we exhibited the burnt offerings in the window of the store together with a film of the smouldering remains.
The 'making of' web film.
